Juicing or Blending: Which is your favorite?

Updated: Sep 17

Do you start your day with juicing or blending? I begin with the NutriBullet Pro Personal Blender. Almost every morning, I whip up a delicious smoothie packed with fruits, veggies, and intermittently a scoop of protein powder or Greek yogurt. It's quick, easy, and the clean-up is a breeze. It’s perfect for crushing frozen fruits into frosty smoothies which removes the need for ice. My favorite is the NutriBullet Pro 900.

So, what’s the difference…

Juicers extract liquid from fruits and vegetables, discarding the pulp, fibers, and seeds. This process can concentrate nutrients and make them easier to absorb. Because juicing removes the pulp and fibers, juices can release natural sugars into the bloodstream, which can raise blood sugar levels.

NutriBullets are often compared to juicers, but the NutriBullet blenders work very differently. While a juicer extracts the liquid from fruits and vegetables and discards the pulp, a NutriBullet blender liquifies the entire fruit or vegetable. NutriBullets liquify the entire fruit or vegetable, breaking down cell walls to release nutrients while retaining fiber and pulp. NutriBullets can also blend tougher ingredients like celery, ginger, and nuts into a smooth and drinkable consistency for delicious smoothies.

Nutrient-rich Smoothie Recipes

For recipes on making nutrient rich smoothies go here.

Here are some ingredients to choose from for a nutrient rich smoothie

·        Protein such as protein powder (dairy or plant-based), seeds, Greek yogurt or nut butters

·        Fruits (fresh or frozen) including berries, mango, banana, peach, pineapple and avocado

·        Greens such as spinach, kale or wheatgrass and other vegetables selections include carrot, cucumber, beets, cauliflower, cooked sweet potatoes

·        Liquids for a smoothie may be water, dairy or plant-based milk or unsweetened fruit juice

I find that smoothies offer tremendous flavor variety and are an easy way to help me manage my weight and get in my daily supply of protein, fruits and vegetables!
